This beautiful antique pine flooring is made from select reclaimed beams from textile mills in South Carolina. These buildings date from before 1900 and were built with timbers cut from 300-400 year old Longleaf pine trees. This tree was desired for it's durability and strength to build industrial facilities that would last for centuries. Now that these commercial plants are being slated for removal, it has been discovered that when these beams can be reprocessed, this lumber possesses another quality that CGI is able to bring to light with it's exclusive milling process - beauty! The tight grained heart pine contained in these beams will shine with a luster that is hard to duplicate in other woods or manufactured flooring. We offer this wood as "Center-Match T&G Mill Run" - which means you get what comes out of the reprocessing mill without further processing. You or your flooring installer decides what your grade will be in your house. This provides the most wood to you and you can determine the uniqueness of your floor. You can decide to include or exclude knots, large bolt holes, or other distinguishing character marks. You can sort this wood into the grain patterns you want, or leave everything completely random. Also, this center match wood will allow you to use whichever side is best - this means less waste, and maximum usage of the wood you purchase. We encourage you to participate in the way this floor is installed so you will have a floor that is an heirloom for your family. However you do it, the result will be a floor that no one can duplicate completely! And the beauty of this 400 year old wood will jump out at you.
